Arsenal – Newcastle Preview

Arsenal faces Newcastle United at the Emirates in a match from the 26th round of the Premier League. Now keep up with us and let’s see what we can tell you about it in our accurate football predictions today.

Just like last season, Arsenal will fight for the title again. The Gunners are currently second in the standings with 55 points, but just two points behind the leader Liverpool. Mikel Arteta’s team needs to keep pushing because every point from now is going to be crucial.

Arsenal’s current form is excellent – five consecutive wins in the Premier League. Since their defeat against Fulham at the Craven Cottage, Arteta’s boys are just brilliant in the league.

Last weekend Arsenal paid a visit to Burnley and celebrated a stunning 5-0 win at the Turf Moor. Bakayo Saka showed his potential again with a brace while Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz scored as well. Meanwhile Martin Odegaard added one assist for the win as well.

Most likely Arteta won’t make many changes against Newcastle. He doesn’t have a reason to do it. Eventually we could see Edward Nketiah leading the attack but most likely Arteta will stick to Leandro Trossard – the Belgian international scored one of the goals against Burnley. At the same time Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey and Oleksandr Zinchenko remain injured so they won’t be playing in the next match. The Japanese international Takehiro Tomiyasu is recovering from an injury as well.

The dynamics between Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard in midfield remains a key factor for Arsenal’s success. The performance of these two players is absolutely crucial for Arsenal’s chances to win each game. Now the Gunners’ fans will hope for another masterclass from the Rice – Odegaard duo against the Magpies.

What we should say is that Arsenal are hosting Newcastle just a few days after their Champions League game against Porto. It means that Arsenal could be a little bit tired after the tough European night. Let’s see how they will react to the situation.

Newcastle United approach this visit to London from 8th place in the standings. Last season the Magpies reached the Champions League, but this time they are facing some difficulties. Their performance is inconsistent and this could lead to some problems for the manager Eddie Howe. One of the reasons for that are the many injuries the team suffered. It really caused some negative influence to the team’s performances, and we can’t blame Eddie Howe for that.

Newcastle are improving lately in the league, though – the Magpies are unbeaten in their last four matches in the Prem – two wins and two draws. Last weekend they faced Bournemouth at home and made their 4th draw for the season. Howe’s boys were close to losing this one, but Matt Ritchie equalised in the 92th minute. Before this Anthony Gordon scored from a penalty kick for the Magpies.

As we said, there are many absent players in Newcastle’s squad. Players like Alexander Isak, Fabian Schar, Joe Willock, Nick Pope and Joelinton are not ready to play. At the same time Sandro Tonali remains suspended because of the betting scandal with his participance.

For Newcastle it’s going to be a tough game at the Emirates. Most likely the team will defend at most of the time. What the visitors can do here is eventually hurt their opponent on counter-attack. But let’s see if they can actually do it – it’s more difficult than it sounds.

That’s the accurate football predictions today for the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Newcastle United at the Emirates. Can Newcastle hurt the title contenders here? Surely they are the underdogs, but let’s see.
